Clark Cooney Wedding

Presentation of Bride

Who presents this woman to be married today?

Welcome:

Love has gathered us here today, let us make a wedding. A wedding is such a wonderful occasion, filled with hopes, dreams and excitement. We are all here today to celebrate the love that Danielle and Donald have for each other and to recognize and witness their decision to join their lives and families together.

It is love that gives the deepest meaning to our lives it is our highest calling, our greatest purpose, our finest achievement.

There is a gentleness to the presence of love that softens life’s rough edges. It makes us somehow braver to go forth into the world knowing the shelter of someone’s love awaits us at days end.

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience will never fail.

Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge but it will pass. For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial; but when what is perfect comes, then what is partial will disappear.

Three will remain: faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is love.

Dedication:

Of all the people you have met, you have found each other. Are you ready to be married?

If any person present knows why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Now as Danielle and Donald prepare to exchange their vows, let us all take a moment to remember our own promises.

Declaration of Intent:

Do you Donald take Danielle to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor and cherish, to have and to hold, for better for worse, richer or poorer in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?

Do you Danielle take Donald to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, honor and cherish, to have and to hold, for better for worse, richer or poorer in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?

Exchanging of the Rings:

Rings have become a symbol of the exchange of the vows witnessed here today.

I bless these rings. May the grace of this day carry forward with you all the days of the your lives together and may you find delight in each other and may your love continue to grow and to nurture you throughout your lives.

Donald place the ring on Danielle’s finger and repeat after me:

With this ring, I join my life to yours.

Danielle place the ring on Donald’s finger and repeat after me:

With this ring, I join my life to yours.
